Alliance4Life Launches Virtual Research Center at Mini-Conference in Ljubljana

The A4L_BRIDGE Mini-Conference is currently underway in Ljubljana, bringing together leading researchers from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) for two days of scientific exchange and collaboration. A major highlight of the event is the official launch of the Alliance4Life Virtual Research Center (VRC)—a transformative initiative designed to foster cross-border research partnerships and innovation.
Taking place at Center Rog, the conference is buzzing with discussions on cutting-edge research, new collaboration opportunities, and the future of biomedical science in the region. During today’s launch session, Sergej Pirkmajer, Jernej Jorgačevski, and Filip Sedlić introduced the VRC’s objectives, emphasizing its role in providing structured research opportunities, international secondments, joint mini-conferences, and access to shared research infrastructure.
The VRC is set to become a dynamic hub where researchers from twelve life science institutions across eleven CEE countries can engage in knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary projects, and mentoring programs. The initiative aims to break down traditional academic barriers and promote a culture of collaborative excellence across the region.
As the conference continues, attendees are participating in engaging presentations, panel discussions, and networking sessions, all reinforcing the mission of Alliance4Life to drive scientific excellence and institutional progress.
