About group Group members

The Alliance4Life Technology Transfer Focus Group brings together experts from member institutions to strengthen the capacity for translating scientific discoveries into real-world applications in life sciences, addressing the innovation gap in the widening region. Members collaborate to share best practices, exchange innovative strategies, and build collective expertise in fostering partnerships between research institutions and industry. Together, they benchmark technology transfer processes, develop strategic frameworks, and implement joint initiatives to improve the commercialization of research outcomes.

The group facilitates peer training and engages external experts to enhance skills in areas such as intellectual property management, licensing, and fostering spin-off companies. Members also identify funding opportunities to support collaborative projects and technology transfer activities, addressing challenges such as scaling innovations or improving institutional policies. Acting as an advisory body, the Technology Transfer Focus Group provides guidance to work package and task leaders, ensuring that research institutions are well-equipped to translate scientific advances into impactful innovations, driving economic and societal benefits in the life sciences sector.

An Intellectual Property Analyst at the University of Tartu's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, she oversees IP protection, commercialization, and provides training for students and staff. With master’s degrees in IT Law and Intellectual Property, she is also a co-founder of an NGO supporting the Ukrainian community in Estonia.

An in-house patent counsel at the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis, she supports scientists on intellectual property matters, including patent drafting and prosecution. With expertise in EU Horizon projects and technology transfer, she co-chairs the A4LBridge Knowledge and Technology Transfer group and holds a master's in chemical engineering.

An Account Manager for Technology Transfer at the International Clinical Research Center, he brings expertise in business-academic relations and is active in Alliance4Life's FG6 group. Her research focuses on epigenetic tumor markers and phase 3 clinical trials, contributing to four projects and two randomized trials.

Her research focuses on cellular energy metabolism and mitochondrial protection. She collaborates with academia and industry and serves on the Scientific Committee of Alliance4Life Bridge.

Prof. Milen Dimitrov, a summa cum laude graduate from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University of Sofia, specializes in pharmaceutical technology, biopharmacy, and health management. He is a full professor and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, contributing to research in pediatric dosage forms, modified-release formulations, and QbD in pharmaceutical production. Prof. Dimitrov has authored over 150 publications and 10 textbooks.
